I began my yoga practice more than 17 years ago. As a busy mother, wife, and career woman, my hour of yoga practice several times a week at my local YMCA was the respite and self-care I deeply craved. It was a magical hour to calm my mind, move my body and connect with something greater than myself. I completely fell in love with yoga and I dreamed of teaching yoga and owning a studio as part of my retirement plan. In 2017, my dreams fast tracked and soon I found myself immersed in yoga training. I trusted the signs the universe sent my way and, in my intuition, and a decade sooner than I thought possible, with great love and dedication, I opened my own studio, The Yoga Loft, in Howard, WI in January 2018. I am RYT 200 and began teaching vinyasa, restorative, and yin and now have over 600 teaching hours that includes studio classes, private sessions, community practice, workshops and more.

 

I continue to grow and learn about mind, body and soul healing. Through the years I have been on a personal self-healing journey and through modalities like sound healing and reiki I was able to deeply heal myself. In turn, I feel part of my purpose is to create a safe space where the community gathers on their own personal healing journey through their yoga practice.

 

With a certificate in mindfulness and as a Master Reiki Practitioner, I channel healing energy, combined with my empathic abilities, and experience from my own journey and experience as a Yoga Instructor to help others on their journey. I am passionate about creating a sacred space combining spirituality, softness, strength, and loving acceptance, to tap into our innate healing power and allow individuals to transform into a version of themselves that embodies their highest truth. Channeling loving and healing energy, allowing you to be seen, safe and never judged. Intuitively I may incorporate Tibetan or Crystal singing bowls, and oracle card readings to my offerings.  

 

I currently reside in Suamico, WI with my wonderful husband of almost 29 years, Tim, and our youngest child, Taylor who is 23. Our son, Jordan, 27, and his fiancé live close by and have a wedding set for May of 2021. Fur babies include 2 dogs, 2 cats and a bunny, along with stray kitties that find a loving bowl of food and water year-round. I work full time teaching studio classes, private reiki sessions and managing The Yoga Loft. My hobbies include traveling with my husband and family, gardening, connecting with Mother Nature, traveling, astrology and adding to her crystal collection.

 

Creativity, movement of the body, physical and energetically, learning, and connection to nature are of the utmost importance to me, all of which I incorporate into my yoga classes and reiki sessions. I believe we are always growing and learning about ourselves and the world around us and that we must take the time to find what makes our heart sing, our mind quiet and soul soar, living our authentic life.

My journey with yoga began in my undergraduate years as a fellow student and friend wanted someone to practice with before becoming a yoga teacher. Group sports and working out had never been my thing, but I felt better exercising and this one-on-one environment was rewarding and safe. I found yoga to be intuitive, practical, and low-impact, with minimal equipment required. I started to practice at home and with friends using copies of Iyengar’s Light on Yoga for guidance, each picking out poses and trying to flow in and out of them. I began to see improvements in range of motion, awareness: both spatial and mental, strength, mood, confidence and self-control. While I was initially apprehensive about going to a class with my limited experience, I did start attending studios a few years after that. I liked that although yoga is done in a group, the focus is on the individual. Letting guided yoga practice be a space that I set aside for my own personal growth during a period of drastic changes, with the assistance of a beautiful and vibrant yoga community; I was able to find the calm amidst the storm. For me yoga by nature has an essence of self-improvement and brings a lightness of being. Looking forward to being someone who helps you lift yourself up!

Namaste to all of you!  I am Amanda McAllister and my passion for yoga began in 2004 when I took my first class. I have practiced many forms of yoga throughout my yoga journey including Power Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Yin, Restorative, and even Aerial yoga! All forms of yoga are unique and have been beneficial to my mind and body. One of the reasons I love yoga so much is I am constantly learning new things about myself and others.  As a second grade teacher and mom, I find that yoga keeps me grounded in my everyday life. I enjoy sharing yoga with others, especially with my students in my classroom and often think of yoga as my hobby!  Due to my love of yoga, I decided to take the plunge and become a certified yoga instructor in 2015 to deepen my own yoga practice and have the ability to share yoga with others. Obtaining my CYT 200 hour certification with Empower Yoga in Appleton was an amazing experience. Since then, I have been teaching Power Vinyasa, gentle, slow flow and kids’ yoga classes.  Join me for a class that will challenge your mind, body and spirit. My intention when I teach is to lead you through a thought provoking practice that will give you tools that you can take off your mat to guide your everyday life. I'm excited to share my love of yoga with you!

Ana has been practicing yoga for about 10 years. She became a teacher because she wanted to share her passion for yoga with others. Ana’s classes are welcoming to all while being challenging both physically and mentally. She truly believes that yoga is for everybody and every body. We are all built differently, and yoga teaches us to love every ounce of our minds and bodies, which make us authentically us. 

Ana has an expected graduation date of June 2021 and will be RYT 500.

I am currently a certified yoga instructor, CTA, RYT 200. Spreading the love of yoga to others is a heart passion of mine. Yoga has not only been a journey but a transformation physically, mentally and emotionally. Over the last six years I have been able to be pain-free and joyful, finding my inner and outer strength, confidence, and my true self. I hope is to have the privilege to guide others through yoga and witness the joy people find through yoga.

Chrystal has always been an athlete growing up and through high school but didn't really turn to fitness until her 30's. Once she did she was all in!

She became a certified personal trainer in 2009 and has since become a certified instructor of Insanity, PIYO, Spin, Zumba, Strong by Zumba, TRX and kickboxing along with a long list of other certifications. Chrystal completed her 200 hour yoga teaching training is is registered with Yoga Alliance.

 

You may recognize her from many classes she teaches around the area!

People taking her classes always seem to recognize the high energy and commitment to making sure all fitness levels get an intense and fun filled workout.

Crystal has been drawn to movement her whole life. She started as a gymnast at a very young age and made the transition into other independent outdoor sports such as; snowboarding, mountain biking and whitewater kayaking. Her mother first introduced her to yoga via a gorgeous video by Ali MacGraw and Erich Schiffmann, called Yoga Mind & Body. It’s visually and aurally stunning with clean white sand and a cool predawn sky, with a soundtrack including Dead Can Dance.  This early exposure had her hooked. She continued yoga during her early college years at the University of Montana as a fun way to sweat and relieve stress. Her casual hobby blossomed into a way of life after becoming a busy mom and needing that time for self-care and a stress-relieving outlet.

 

Crystal is a Registered Nurse and is passionate about helping people learn how to live a healthy lifestyle. She draws on her nursing knowledge of the body to assist students in correct alignment during postures.  Her passion lies in teaching others how to achieve vibrant mind and body health through meditation and yoga.

 

Crystal received her 200-hour yoga teacher training through the School of Yoga Institute at a remote off grid jungle location in Punta Mona, Costa Rica.  She is thrilled to be able to share her passion with you! Om Shanti Shanti Shanti.

I have always been an individual who loved to try new experiences, highly motivated, driven by attaining a goal and eager to stay fit. After years of, for lack of a better term, beating on my body with weight training, running, etc I decided I was going to take up yoga. On that day, my life changed! Who knew mindfully breathing and moving could be so rewarding. I still remember the feeling I had after leaving my first class: pure bliss, nothing but a smile. From that day on I knew I wanted to spread the joy of yoga! It’s not always sunshine and rainbows, it’s hard work, but that is just another reason to love it. Flexible? You don’t need to be flexible, I’m not! But yoga has increased my flexibility day by day and provided the workout I always strive for.   

Wanting more, I decided to pursue my RYT 200 Yoga Alliance teacher training. This course changed my life for the better. It reminds me that it is okay to slow down, take time for myself, and if you fell off the wagon for a day get back on, tomorrow is a new beginning!

I discovered yoga about 12 years ago while training for a marathon. I got a running injury and the only thing I could do was yoga. I kept doing it when I was able to run again and it not only improved my running, but made me feel overall amazing, both in body and mind. Wanting to share the gift of yoga with everyone, I decided to get certified and graduated in June 2018 with my 200 hr. I am currently going to go back and get my 300 hr teacher training, with the goal of being 500 hr certified. Yoga has done so much for me and I hope it can help everyone in some way or another.

I live in pursuit of the perpetual challenge and I capitalize on the gifts with which I have been blessed. I have been blessed to be a good teacher, communicator, leader, mentor and friend. I live in a constant state of energy and have been classified as the “energizer bunny” as I keep going and going. My classes are filled with energy and positivity.

I want people to focus on what they like about themselves. If you focus on the attributes that you like about yourself, you will focus on your energy to create more appreciation for yourself and others. I stared doing yoga for just that reason, I wanted to like myself physically, emotionally and spiritually. I have always struggled with self-image and confidence internally. Yoga has helped me to accept, live and breathe, embracing ALL OF ME!

I will always be generous with praise and quick to smile when you come to class. I can lighten your spirit and celebrate every achievement with you, and I will bring out the positivity in all situations.

It is good to be alive, life is fun, and no matter what the setbacks, we must never lose our sense of gratitude. I am thankful for yoga in my life and I hope to share my teaching gift with each class.

Joy has been practicing yoga since she fell in love in college. As a college athlete, yoga was a whole different world and experience for her, and it's exactly what she needed.  Joy loves that yoga is a package deal, it strengthens the mind, body, and spirit.  Joy also has a love for the arts and yoga has always felt like a "dance on the mat."  Yoga can truly be whatever you define it as.  In the daytime, Joy is a school counselor and thrives off of changing lives. Youth yoga is a passion for Joy.  Yoga is a gift and a lifestyle, and if she can teach others to love themselves and the world, mission accomplished.  Joy's specialty is in faith yoga and thrives off sharing yoga and the message of God. 

 

Joy received her RYT 200 hours through Spirit Let Yoga and is trained in Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga.  Joy loves all styles of yoga and loves to mix up her routines with weight training and dance.

I first came to yoga in 2015 for the physical benefits.  As my body and practice became stronger, I soon discovered that my yoga mat was a place to find a sense of peace, self-awareness, and a mind-body connection. I fell in love with the dance between breath and movement. 

 

I became certified in 2018. As an instructor, I enjoy teaching unique, challenging flows. Yoga is not one size fits all. Each and every Yogi is on a different path. I try to offer my students the opportunity to take that personal path in their own way and at their own pace. And allow them to modify when needed, and to honor how their body and mind are feeling. I find immense joy and inspiration in seeing students discover their own personal growth while encouraging them along their journey.
